India's top leadership pays floral tributes to Atal Behari Vajpayee
On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other BJP leaders gathered at the 'Sadaiv Atal' memorial in Delhi to honor the memory of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary. The ceremony was attended by key figures including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP President JP Nadda.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a founding member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a towering figure in Indian politics, passed away on August 16, 2018, at the age of 93 after a prolonged illness at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He served as Prime Minister on three separate occasions: briefly in 1996 and then in two full terms from 1998 to 2004. His birthday, December 25, is observed as 'Good Governance Day' in his honor.
In 2015, Vajpayee was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, recognizing his significant contributions to the nation.
