Seven people lost their lives, and nine others were injured in a stampede at the Baba Siddhnath Temple in Bihar's Jehanabad district on Monday morning. The injured were immediately taken to hospitals in Makhdumpur and Jehanabad for treatment.

Jehanabad District Magistrate Alankrita Pandey confirmed the incident and assured that the situation is now under control. She stated, "We are closely monitoring the situation, and the situation is under control."

Following the stampede, both the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police visited the site. The police are working to identify those who lost their lives in the incident.

Jehanabad Station House Officer Divakar Kumar Vishwakarma informed ANI, "DM and SP have visited the spot to assess the situation. Seven people have died, and we are in the process of identifying the deceased. The bodies will be sent for post-mortem once identified."

Jehanabad Sub-Divisional Officer Vikas Kumar described the event as "tragic" and added that despite tight arrangements, the situation will be further reviewed for clarity.

This tragic incident comes shortly after a similar stampede on July 2 in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras, where over 120 people died during a religious gathering led by Baba Narayan Hari.
