Amid reports that seven opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, have received mangoes from the Pakistan embassy, the ruling BJP has reacted sharply. Following reports suggesting that the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, and other Opposition MPs have received mangoes from the Pakistan embassy, the BJP on Wednesday slammed the Congress leader, implying he prefers mangoes from Pakistan over those from Uttar Pradesh. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders of having ‘napak’ (impure) ties with Pakistan. The BJP's accusations followed reports that the Islamabad embassy sent mangoes to Gandhi and other Lok Sabha MPs. BJP leader Giriraj Singh suggested that Gandhi’s recent criticisms of Prime Minister Narendra Modi were attempts to solicit support from Pakistan to oust the current NDA government. He further questioned, “Rahul Gandhi should tell if he has gone to Pakistan to ask for anything to remove Modi.” The LoP has yet to respond to this controversy.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh, in a media interaction, stated, "Some time ago Rahul Gandhi said that he doesn't like mangoes from Uttar Pradesh. Pakistan Embassy has sent mangoes to Rahul Gandhi now. He should tell what other things he likes. Rahul Gandhi batayen kya Modi ko hatane ka koi naya mangne gaye hain Pakistan se. Pakistan se inke napak rishte hain."
