Wall collapse

In Shahpur, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, a tragic incident occurred during the construction of a Shivling at the Hardaul Baba Temple. A wall collapsed right on 9 children who got trapped under the debris. It is now learnt that eight of them have died.

The injured children were rushed to Sagar hospital for treatment but were declared dead. Shahpur police and local residents promptly arrived at the scene and conducted a rescue operation with their assistance.

It is reported that construction work was ongoing at the temple, and some children were present at the site. A religious event was also taking place in the temple complex, which was crowded with people. During this time, the temple wall collapsed, trapping 9 children under the rubble. Local residents managed to rescue the children and rushed them to the hospital, but unfortunately, many had already succumbed to their injuries. The police are investigating the incident.

The tragedy occurred in the Hardaul Temple complex in Shahpur, Sagar district, where devotees were making Shivlings during the month of Sawan. Many children, aged between 8 and 14, were present to participate in the activity due to the holiday on Sunday. As they were making Shivlings in the morning, a nearby old and dilapidated building's wall, around fifty years old, suddenly collapsed. The wall, made of mud, had become weak due to the recent heavy rainfall.
