Ayodhya Marks First Anniversary of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha with Grand Celebrations

Ayodhya: The grand celebrations marking the first anniversary of the Ram Mandir’s Pran Pratishtha (inauguration) began on Saturday (Pratishtha Dwadasi) with a large number of devotees arriving in Ayodhya to participate in the special ceremonies.
Religious and cultural programs will take place at the Ram Mandir complex starting Saturday. The anniversary celebrations commenced with the chanting of Yajurveda hymns. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will perform the ceremonial abhishek (ritual bath) of Lord Ram at around 10:30 AM.
At 12:20 PM, a grand aarti will be held, followed by an offering of 56 varieties of food to the deity. The Ram Lalla idol has been beautifully adorned with flowers for the occasion. A local resident, who visited the temple, expressed his joy: "We couldn’t make it to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony in January 2024, but we are fortunate to be here this time for the first anniversary to witness Lord Ram’s darshan."
Another woman devotee from Bhopal, shared her excitement: "We arrived two days ago to be a part of the anniversary celebrations, and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the Lord today."
According to the temple trust, the celebrations from January 11 to 13 will also involve the general public who were unable to attend the historic Pran Pratishtha ceremony last year.
Around 110 invited VIPs will also be present during the events. A large German hanger tent has been set up at the Angad Teela site, which will host 5,000 people. The general public will be able to witness the grand event. The program will include classical cultural performances, rituals, and daily Ram Katha (sermons) at the Mandap and Yajna hall.
Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, had previously stated, "The Trust decided to invite the public who could not attend last year's Pran Pratishtha ceremony. They will be allowed to participate in the three-day events at Angad Teela."
The Trust has also issued invitation letters to 110 VIPs, many of whom could not attend the original Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22, 2024. It is noteworthy that on January 22, 2024, the new idol of Ram Lalla was ceremoniously installed at the Ram Mandir in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
