Baloda Bazar Violence

Raipur: Azad Samaj Party's national president and Member of Parliament from Nagina, Uttar Pradesh, Chandrashekhar, visited Raipur Central Jail to meet the accused in the Baloda Bazar violence case.

He was accompanied by a large number of supporters who gathered outside the jail premises.

Meeting with Congress MLA Devendra Yadav and Others

Chandrashekhar met Congress MLA Devendra Yadav, who is among the accused in the Baloda Bazar violence case, along with other detainees. The police have heightened security around the jail, closing the main gate and deploying additional personnel, including district police officers and jail guards.

Background of the Baloda Bazar Violence

The violence erupted on June 10 in Baloda Bazar over damage to a religious site belonging to the Satnami community. The unrest escalated to such an extent that an angry mob set fire to the collectorate and the SP's office.

Congress MLA Devendra Yadav, one of the accused, was arrested for allegedly inciting the crowd during the protests. He had initially appeared before the police after being issued a notice but later refused to cooperate with subsequent summons.

Following the issuance of a third notice, Yadav declined to appear, insisting that the police visit him for any statements. This led to his eventual arrest after the police visited his residence for questioning.

Increased Security Measures

In light of Chandrashekhar’s visit, the police ensured tight security around the jail to prevent any disruptions. Officers have been stationed both inside and outside the premises to maintain order. The Baloda Bazar violence case has garnered significant attention, with Chandrashekhar’s visit underscoring the political and social sensitivities surrounding the incident.
