Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty, stirred up social media excitement after they were seen at a Third Wave Coffee outlet in Bangalore's Jayanagar area on Wednesday. In Bangalore for personal and official engagements, the couple was noticed ordering coffee at the counter, with Sunak dressed in his signature black trousers and white shirt, while Murty opted for a simple pastel kurta. Photos of the couple enjoying their coffee soon went viral.

Earlier that day, Sunak and Murty, accompanied by her parents — Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murty — visited the Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in Jayanagar. The couple participated in traditional rituals and offered prayers during the auspicious Kartik month. As part of the ceremony, Sunak lit a lamp and performed a special puja, receiving blessings from senior temple manager R.K. Vadindracharya. The Murthy family, known devotees of Guru Raghavendra, often visits the Matha, a tradition Sunak has embraced since his marriage to Akshata Murty.

Known for his Punjabi heritage and religious inclination, Sunak has maintained a close connection to his spiritual roots in India, even observing a Thursday fast inspired by his wife’s devotion to Guru Raghavendra. This recent visit to Bangalore allowed him to reconnect with family and tradition, bringing warmth and resonance to their time in the city.
