On the occasion of Republic Day in Delhi, Chhattisgarh’s rich tribal traditions and the unique Ramnami community will be prominently featured in its tableau.

The display, a tribute to the state's vibrant cultural heritage, is part of the Bharat Parv celebrations, centered around the Government of India’s theme, “Golden India: Heritage and Development.”

During a press preview held at Delhi’s National Rangshala on Wednesday, Chhattisgarh’s tableau received widespread appreciation from the national media. The presentation highlights the deep connection between life, nature, and spirituality in Chhattisgarh’s cultural heritage.

It celebrates the state’s unique identity by showcasing its local traditions, rituals, and way of life.

Representation of the Ramnami Community: At the forefront of the tableau, a man and a woman from the Ramnami community are depicted, worshipping the formless "Ram" by chanting and reading from the Ramcharitmanas.

Their bodies and clothes are inscribed with the word "Ram-Ram," symbolizing their devotion. Musical anklets, used during devotional singing, are also displayed nearby.

Tribute to Tribal Culture: The central section features tribal attire, ornaments, art, and cultural artifacts, vividly portraying Chhattisgarh’s tribal traditions. Instruments like the Turhi and the iconic Salfi tree, a vital element of Bastar’s tribal life, are prominently displayed.
