13 Hardcore Maoists Surrender in Bijapur, Including Rewarded Naxalites

In a significant blow to Maoist operations, 13 hardcore Maoists surrendered to the police in Bijapur on Thursday, marking a step towards peace and reintegration into society for these militants.

Among those surrendering was a Maoist with a reward of Rs. 13 lakh on their head. The surrendering Maoists include key figures such as CCM Uday and Katkam Sudarshan’s gunman, who were previously active in the Gondia division of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Under the government's rehabilitation policy, these former rebels will be provided with various benefits to support their transition to civilian life. As an immediate assistance, each surrendered Maoist was given a cash amount of Rs. 25,000.

Details of the Surrender: Among the surrendered Maoists, ACM AOB Katam, with a reward of Rs. 5 lakh, is a notable figure.

Other key members include: Munna Kakem – Area Committee Member Sukhram Hemla – A prominent PPCM Platoon No. 10 Section A Commander with a reward of Rs. 5 lakh Deve Madkam alias Chandni – Rewarded with Rs. 1 lakh, active in the Gondia Division Nandu Avlam – A party member from the Gondia Division, with a reward of Rs. 1 lakh Area Committee Member – Active in Pamed, also with a reward of Rs. 1 lakh In total, 13 Maoists surrendered, with rewards ranging from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh for several of them.

The government’s Niyad Nellanarr Scheme will benefit these individuals, providing them with additional support for their rehabilitation.

Maoists Active in Maharashtra and MP: The surrendered Maoists had been operating not only in Chhattisgarh but also in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Some notable names among them include: Biccham Mudma – Vice President of CNM Lalu Madvi alias Gota – RPC Militia Platoon A Section Commander Deve Madkam alias Janaki – Member of the Sangam Samaiya Sunnam – RPC Janatana Sarkar Member, Jarpalli Bhima Nupo – Agriculture Branch President, RPC Janatana Sarkar, Komatpalli Several of the surrendering Maoists were women, marking a significant shift as they renounce violence and opt for a path of peace.

Police Statement: Jitendra Yadav, SP of Bijapur, expressed hope that this trend of surrender would continue, adding that the surrendered Maoists would be provided with all benefits under the Niyad Nellanarr Scheme.

This surrender is seen as a positive step in the government's efforts to reduce Maoist violence and reintegrate former rebels into mainstream society. This marks another crucial victory in the ongoing battle against Naxalism, further weakening the Maoist presence in the region.
