CM Mohan Inaugurates Bhopal's Largest Flyover: A 2,900-Meter Elevated Corridor Built at ₹154 Crore

Bhopal, January 23 – Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the city's largest flyover today, a state-of-the-art elevated corridor stretching 2,900 meters from Gayatri Mandir to Ganesh Mandir.
Constructed at a cost of ₹154 crore, the flyover is set to revolutionize traffic management in the city, making daily commutes smoother and saving valuable time for travelers.
During the inauguration ceremony, Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Rakesh Singh emphasized the significance of this infrastructure, calling it a "lifeline" for Bhopal residents. The flyover is expected to ease congestion in some of the city's busiest areas, including DB Mall, Board Office, Pragati Petrol Pump, and Manasrovar Square.
According to preliminary estimates, 60% of the traffic in these areas will now utilize the flyover, reducing the load on existing routes.
Key Features of the Flyover:
Length and Connectivity: The flyover spans 2,900 meters with a width of 15 meters. It connects Gayatri Mandir and Ganesh Mandir via critical junctions such as DB Mall, Board Office, Pragati Square, and Manasrovar Complex.
Impact on Traffic: The elevated corridor will significantly alleviate traffic pressure in densely populated residential and commercial hubs such as Vidya Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Kasturba Nagar, Saket Nagar, Danish Nagar, Ashima Mall, and AIIMS.
Ease for Long-Distance Travelers: The flyover provides a smoother route for travelers heading toward Obedullaganj, Narmadapuram, Betul, Khandwa, and Jabalpur.
Dedicated Branch: A branch from DB Mall Square extends toward Bhopal Haat (Mantralaya Road), offering direct access to Vallabh Bhavan and other state-level offices in Arera Hills, particularly benefiting employees during peak hours.
Benefits for Citizens: Time and Fuel Efficiency: The improved traffic flow will save commuters significant time and reduce vehicle fuel consumption.
Environmental Impact: With less congestion, the flyover is expected to lower vehicle emissions, contributing to a cleaner environment for Bhopal residents.
The flyover stands as a testament to the state government's commitment to improving urban infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for its citizens. As traffic flow becomes more efficient, Bhopal is poised to set new benchmarks in urban mobility.
