Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren will expand his cabinet on Thursday, December 5, with 11 ministers set to take the oath of office. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Ashok Garden, located within the Raj Bhavan premises, at 12:30 PM. Governor Santosh Gangwar will administer the oath.

Details of the Cabinet Expansion

The new cabinet will include:

6 legislators from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)

4 from Congress

1 from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)

Preparations for the event have been finalized, and the designated legislators have been called to the Raj Bhavan an hour before the ceremony.

Pro Tem Speaker Appointment

Before the swearing-in, Governor Gangwar will appoint Prof. Stephen Marandi as the Pro Tem Speaker. The cabinet ministers will then take their oaths of office and secrecy.

CM Hemant Soren had previously taken the oath as Chief Minister in a solo ceremony on November 28 at Morhabadi Ground.

This expansion marks the next major step in forming his third government. The cabinet formation has been a closely watched development, signaling the power-sharing dynamics among JMM, Congress, and RJD in the state government. The ceremony underscores the coalition's efforts to balance representation while moving forward with governance priorities.
