Heavy Gunfight Between Security Forces and Naxals in Pamed Area; Two Soldiers Injured, CM Reacts
Bijapur: A fierce gun battle broke out late last night between security forces and Naxals in the Naxal-affected Pamed area of Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh. Naxals engaged in heavy firing, to which the security personnel responded with equal force. The intense clash resulted in injuries to two soldiers, identified as Gajendra and Krishna, although both are reported to be out of danger.
The gunfight occurred near the newly established security camp in the Naxal stronghold region of Bijapur, as part of ongoing efforts to make Bastar district Naxal-free. The confrontation took place at the outer cordon of the recently opened Zhidpalli-2 camp, where security forces were deployed to safeguard the area.
Top police officials including CRPF DIG Surajpal Verma, Bijapur SP Jitendra Kumar Yadav, CRPF 228th Battalion Commandant Latif Kumar Sahu, and ASP Sanjay Dhruv were present at the site to oversee operations. During the encounter, Naxals continued their heavy firing, while the security forces retaliated fiercely.
A video of the gun battle has surfaced, showing intense crossfire between the two sides. This clash is a part of the larger ongoing security operations aimed at neutralizing Naxal activities and increasing the presence of security forces in sensitive areas of Bijapur.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, after returning from his tours in Delhi and Mumbai, made a statement regarding the recent Naxal attacks. He said that the Naxals are rattled by the continuous, brave efforts of the security forces over the past year in fighting them. As a result, the Naxals are resorting to such actions in retaliation.
