Nigeria to Honour PM Narendra Modi with Prestigious GCON Award
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to receive The Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), one of Nigeria's highest civilian honors. This prestigious recognition has previously been conferred on only one foreign dignitary, Queen Elizabeth II, in 1969.
The award underscores PM Modi's growing global stature and recognition for his contributions to international relations. This will mark the 17th international award conferred on PM Modi by a foreign country, further cementing his role as a prominent global leader.
The GCON award is one of Nigeria's highest civilian honors, celebrating exceptional service and contributions. PM Modi’s selection for this prestigious title highlights the strengthening of ties between India and Nigeria and acknowledges his leadership on the global stage.
