Freight Train Derails in Jhansi, Disrupting Rail Traffic

Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh – A freight train derailment near Jhansi has caused significant disruption on key rail routes, delaying several trains, including the Vande Bharat Express. The incident occurred near the F-cabin of Jhansi railway station, where four wheels of one of the wagons derailed while en route to Delhi.
Impact on Rail Traffic
The derailment halted train services on the Jhansi-Delhi and Jhansi-Bhopal routes for nearly two hours, causing inconvenience to passengers. Rail authorities immediately initiated rescue operations to clear the affected tracks. The impacted wagon was detached, and services on both the up and down tracks were restored after two hours.
Authorities Respond
Senior officials, including the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), rushed to the site to oversee the operations. Efforts are underway to identify the cause of the derailment, which disrupted the smooth movement of trains during peak travel hours.
Trains Affected
Among the delayed trains was the Vande Bharat Express, along with other passenger and freight services. The delays are expected to have a cascading effect on train schedules along these routes for the day.
