Chhattisgarh CM’s Statement at Hindu Sangam Sparks Discussion
Raipur, January 30, 2025 – Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai made a significant statement on Sunday during the Hindu Sangam event in Bodla. While addressing the gathering, he expressed his views on the tribal community, stating that tribals have been following the fundamental principles of Hinduism for centuries and are, in essence, the oldest Hindus.
A video of his speech has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussions.
CM Sai Highlights Tribal Traditions as Part of Hinduism
During his speech, CM Sai emphasized the deep-rooted spiritual traditions of the tribal community, stating that they have always worshiped Shiva, Parvati, trees, plants, and nature.
He mentioned that Karma Puja is considered sacred among tribals, and they uphold their faith through rituals and cultural practices that align with Hindu traditions.
He further explained, “Tribal women observe fasts, worship nature, and celebrate Gaura-Gauri puja. These customs are an integral part of our religious identity. The tribal community has preserved its traditions for centuries, and it is incorrect to say that they are not Hindus. Those who worship natural elements and revere Gaura-Gauri – who can be bigger Hindus than them?”
Statement Amidst Ongoing Debates in Tribal Communities
CM Sai’s remarks come at a time when various debates are taking place within the tribal community regarding their religious identity.
His statement appears to be an effort to affirm the religious identity of tribals and clarify that their cultural and worship traditions are deeply connected to Hinduism’s core principles.
This statement has sparked discussions in political and social circles, with many interpreting it as a strategic move to strengthen the relationship between the tribal community and mainstream Hindu beliefs.
