Teacher Suspended for involvement in Balodabazar arson incident
Mohan Banjare, a teacher accused of involvement in the arson incident at the District Joint Office in Balodabazar on June 10, has been suspended with immediate effect. Banjare was serving as a Lecturer (LB) at Government Higher Secondary School, Goda, in Block Palari.
A case (No. 381/2024) has been registered against him at the City Kotwali Balodabazar Police Station under several sections of IPC, including 147, 148, 149, 294, 506, 186, 353, 332, 307, 435, 120B, and 427, as well as Sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984. He was arrested on July 15 and has since been placed on judicial remand.
The suspension was enacted under sub-rule (2)(a) of Rule 9 of the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1966. During the suspension period, he will be eligible for only a subsistence allowance as per the rules.
