Kondagaon, Chhattisgarh – Hemabati Nag, a talented young athlete from Kondagaon, has made Chhattisgarh proud by receiving the prestigious Prime Minister’s National Child Award 2024 on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas. President Droupadi Murmu presented the award to Hemabati, which includes a medal and a certificate of appreciation, at a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre.

A total of 17 children across seven categories were honored with the National Child Award. In her speech, President Murmu congratulated all the award recipients, commending them for their exceptional achievements and inspiring the nation’s youth to set new benchmarks. She praised the children for setting an example of extraordinary accomplishments and contributing significantly to society.

About Hemabati Nag’s Achievements

At just 15 years old, Hemabati Nag has already made a name for herself in the world of judo. After starting her training with the ITBP’s 41st Battalion in 2020, she won a silver medal at the Khelo India National Games. She has also earned several gold, silver, and bronze medals at national-level competitions, proudly representing Chhattisgarh. Hemabati’s dedication and perseverance in the sport earned her this prestigious recognition. Her achievement is a source of immense pride for her home state and serves as an inspiration to other young girls aspiring to make a mark in sports.
