At least three Maoists killed in Major Operation Along Sukma-Bijapur Border

Sukma-Bijapur Border

In a significant development, security forces have reportedly atleast killed three Maoists during a major anti-Naxal operation along the Sukma-Bijapur border.

The operation, conducted by a joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Cobra, STF, and CRPF personnel, took place in the heart of a Maoist stronghold.

According to police sources, the Sukma-Bijapur border region is considered a core area for Naxal battalions, with several prominent Maoist leaders operating in the vicinity.

Based on intelligence inputs about the presence of Maoist cadres, the security forces launched a targeted operation in the area. The joint operation, which involved personnel from DRG, Cobra STF, and CRPF, was aimed at dismantling the Naxal presence in the region.

Sources indicate that the operation has been met with significant success, with reports confirming the death of several Maoists.

The encounter between the security forces and the Naxalites is still ongoing, and more casualties are expected as the operation continues.

A Major Blow to Naxalism

This successful operation is being seen as a major blow to Naxal forces in the region. Over the past year, coordinated operations by state and central forces have yielded positive results, with over 200 Maoists neutralized.

Despite facing losses, the security forces have made substantial strides in the fight against Naxalism, particularly in the Bastar region, which has long been a hotspot for insurgency.
