Vande Bharat Train to Soon Connect Raipur and Jabalpur, Journey to Take Just 7 Hours

Vande Bharat Train

Passengers traveling between Raipur in Chhattisgarh and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh have a reason to celebrate as the Indian Railways is set to introduce the Vande Bharat Express on this route.

The semi-high-speed train will operate via Gondia, offering a faster, more comfortable, and efficient travel option.

7-Hour Journey Across 410 km

The Vande Bharat train will cover the 410-kilometer journey between Raipur and Jabalpur in just 7 hours. This has been made possible by the recently completed Jabalpur-Gondia broad gauge line. Currently, passengers rely on the Amarkantak Express, which takes a longer route via Katni and consumes significantly more time.

Proposed Route and Schedule

The train is expected to run Monday through Friday, as per the proposed schedule: Raipur to Jabalpur (Up): Raipur: 1:20 PM Durg: 2:10 PM Rajnandgaon: 2:29 PM Gondia: 3:55 PM Balaghat: 4:29 PM Nainpur: 5:44 PM Jabalpur: 8:15 PM Jabalpur to Raipur (Down): Jabalpur: 5:00 AM Madan Mahal: 5:12 AM Kachhpura: 5:26 AM Nainpur: 6:49 AM Balaghat: 8:08 AM Gondia: 9:10 AM Rajnandgaon: 10:24 AM Durg: 11:12 AM Raipur: 11:55 AM

Benefits for Travelers

Apart from Raipur and Jabalpur, the train will significantly benefit travelers from intermediate stations like Dongargarh, Gondia, Balaghat, Nainpur, and Seoni.

The Vande Bharat Express, equipped with modern amenities, promises a faster and more comfortable travel experience. Industrial and Regional Development Raghvendra Patel, a member of the West Central Railway Advisory Committee, emphasized that the introduction of the train will boost industrial growth in both Raipur and Jabalpur.

"The connection is crucial for business and trade between the two cities. This train will play a vital role in facilitating economic growth," he stated.

Railway Preparations

According to sources, the Railway Board has sought a schedule from the West Central Railway headquarters, which has already been submitted. Once approval is granted, the train service will commence.

The current route via Katni and Bilaspur stretches over 500 kilometers and takes over 12 hours. The Gondia route, being shorter at 410 kilometers, will reduce travel time drastically. Additionally, the train will also serve passengers heading to Nagpur, as Gondia provides ample connectivity to the city.

The launch of the Vande Bharat Express on the Raipur-Jabalpur route is eagerly awaited, as it not only promises faster travel but also strengthens regional connectivity and economic ties.
