Haryana Government Reshuffles 44 IAS Officers: Sumita Mishra Appointed Home Secretary, Ashok Khemka Takes Charge of Transport

The Haryana government issued a significant reshuffle late on Sunday, transferring 44 IAS officers in a much-anticipated administrative overhaul. These transfers follow the swearing-in of the BJP government on October 17 and are aimed at streamlining the state administration.

Key Appointments and Transfers

Sumita Mishra (1990 batch) has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Home, Jails, and CID, taking on the critical role of Home Secretary.

Ashok Khemka (1991 batch), a senior bureaucrat known for his administrative expertise, will now serve as ACS, Transport Department, directly reporting to Transport Minister Anil Vij.

Anurag Rastogi, after briefly serving as Chief Secretary, has been assigned the role of Financial Commissioner, Revenue, and will continue as ACS, Finance.

Apoorva K Singh will oversee the Town and Country Planning and Urban Estates Department as ACS while retaining charge of the Energy Department.

Other Notable Assignments

Sudhir Rajpal, ACS, Health, has been given additional responsibilities for Medical Education and Research and the Ayush Department.

Anand Mohan Sharan, ACS, Forests and Wildlife, will also head the Food and Civil Supplies Department. Vineet Garg has been appointed ACS, Higher Education Department, and Chairman of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board.

D Suresh, Principal Secretary, Higher Education, will now lead the Industries and Commerce Department.

Shyamal Mishra has been assigned as CEO of both Faridabad and Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authorities, as well as Principal Secretary, Civil Aviation.

Noteworthy Changes

Amit Kumar Aggarwal will manage Development and Panchayats, Public Relations, Language, and Foreign Cooperation Departments.

Mohammad Shayin has been posted as Commissioner and Secretary for Housing for All and Public Health.

Ashima Brar will handle Excise and Taxation and serve as Managing Director of the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam.

These transfers reflect the government’s focus on efficiency and alignment with its administrative goals. The reshuffle covers critical sectors, including health, education, urban development, and public welfare, ensuring experienced officers are placed in pivotal roles.

The new assignments aim to bolster governance and streamline departmental operations across the state, setting the tone for the government's priorities in the coming months.
