One soldier was injured when terrorists opened fire on a newly established army picket in the Gundha area of Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday. According to a defence spokesman, a major terror attack was successfully thwarted.

Reports indicate that terrorists targeted the camp of the 63 Rashtriya Rifles in Gundha early Monday morning, around 4 am. Security personnel promptly retaliated, leading to a brief exchange of fire. The area was subsequently cordoned off, and a search operation is currently underway.

News agency ANI, quoting the Defence PRO in Jammu, confirmed the thwarting of the terror attack. The gunfight with the terrorists is ongoing.
