A technical snag on the Central Railway line caused disruptions to local services on Wednesday morning. Reports indicate that the issue affected the local train movement on the Up Fast Line, leading to delays for many commuters early in the day.

According to an update by the Senior Divisional Operation Manager (Coaching) of Mumbai Division, Central Railway, a bamboo from a construction site fell onto the overhead equipment (OHE) wire between Sion and Matunga stations on the UP TH line, disrupting suburban services. Visuals on the internet show commuters risking their lives by walking on the tracks towards CSMT as train movement was halted for a significant period. Many commuters took to social media platform X to share updates regarding the issue, while others relayed information through the M-Indicator App chat section.

Central Railway locals experienced a delay of about 15 minutes due to the technical issue between Matunga and Sion stations. A local train traveling in the Up direction was stranded for nearly 35 minutes (from 7:45 am to 8:20 am) on the Up Fast Line due to the overhead wire problem. Some trains were diverted to the slow line following this incident, resulting in delays of approximately 15 minutes for all local trains.
