In a chilling incident last night, Tomesh, a driver associated with the local NGO "Kuch Farz Hamara Bhi" (KFHB), was brutally assaulted by a group of unidentified assailants near the new bus stand in Raipur. The attack occurred around 9 PM as Tomesh was heading home after distributing food to the needy, part of KFHB's daily community service activities.

According to reports, the assailants, allegedly under the influence of narcotics, targeted Tomesh with the intention of robbery. The confrontation escalated quickly, culminating in the assailants attacking him with sharp weapons, leaving him severely injured. The swift intervention of passersby, alerted by Tomesh's cries for help, caused the attackers to flee the scene.

Local authorities were notified, and an FIR was subsequently lodged at the Tikrapara police station. The police have initiated an investigation, but no arrests have been made as of yet. This incident has highlighted the increasing menace of drug-related crimes in the city, which seem to be spiraling out of control.

"Kuch Farz Hamara Bhi" has expressed deep concern over the safety of its staff, with the NGO's spokesperson stating, "Our team members are out there every day, trying to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. It's disheartening and scary to see them become targets of such heinous acts."

The local community and fellow social service organizations have rallied in support of Tomesh and KFHB, calling for enhanced police patrols and stricter measures to curb the growing drug problem in Raipur. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers that frontline workers face and underscores the urgent need for comprehensive strategies to tackle substance abuse and ensure the safety of those who serve the community.

As the investigation continues, residents and officials alike are hopeful for a resolution that will not only bring justice for Tomesh but also signify a turning point in the fight against crime and drug abuse in Raipur.
