Air India Rescue Flight AI 1179 with passengers of AI-183 took off from Krasnoyarsk for San Francisco. The Embassy of India, Moscow thanked the Foreign Ministry of Russia and its Representative Office in Krasnoyarsk, Russian Federal Agency for Air Transport, the Krasnoyarsk Krai Government, airport authorities and security officials, for the assistance to the passengers and to Embassy's team in the coordination work throughout the emergency situation.

After an emergency landing in Russia, Air India's United States-bound flight successfully departed for San Francisco from Krasnoyarsk International Airport (KJA), the airline announced on social media platform X. The airline confirmed that additional support has been arranged at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to facilitate clearance procedures for all passengers upon arrival. The team at SFO stands ready to provide comprehensive assistance, including medical care, ground transportation, and assistance with onward connections where needed," Air India stated.

Earlier, the Indian Embassy in Moscow reported that a team comprising three senior officials and an interpreter was deployed in Krasnoyarsk to assist the 225 passengers and 19 crew members of Air India flight AI1-83, which conducted the emergency landing on Thursday. The embassy confirmed their continued presence until all passengers were accommodated on a replacement flight.

Furthermore, Air India mentioned, "Following the incident, facilities at the terminal, including food and beverage services, have been restored, with meals provided to all passengers. Indian consulate representatives from Moscow worked overnight with Russian authorities to arrange accommodations, which were on standby. Regulatory approvals were secured for a relief flight departing Mumbai at 1100 hrs IST to transport passengers out of Krasnoyarsk International Airport later in the day. Air India regrets any inconvenience caused to passengers due to this diversion, conducted for safety reasons."

The relief flight departed from Mumbai and successfully flew from Krasnoyarsk International Airport at 12:02 am on Saturday, according to the airline's statement.
