Reacting to the Election Commission notice on his ‘Akbar’ remark, BJP leader and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he hopes to ask Bhupesh Baghel after election why ”Akbar” is dearer than others.
He explained before media, “Congress complained against me when I spoke about Akbar. It would have made sense to file a complaint if I had spoken something against TS Singh Deo or Baghel or any Congress leader. I think, for the Chhattisgarh Congress, Akbar is more important than Bhupesh Baghel. Why is Akbar so dear to you (Congress)?.”
Sarma confirmed that he has responded to the EC notice on the issue. It was during Sarma’s poll rally in Chhattisgarh, he had said, “…One Akbar comes at one place and he calls a hundred more…”.
