UP Congress Removes Baghpat District President Over Viral Video Allegations; 24-Hour Notice Issued
In response to allegations surrounding a viral video of former Baghpat Congress District President Yunus Chaudhary, Uttar Pradesh Congress Chief Ajay Rai has announced Chaudhary’s removal from his position. Speaking on the matter, Rai stated, "In light of the allegations against Yunus Chaudhary, he has been removed as Baghpat District President. He has been given a 24-hour notice to respond to the allegations. If he fails to do so, further action will be taken. We do not tolerate such behavior, and strict action will follow."
This development comes at a crucial time, as political momentum builds for the upcoming by-elections in Uttar Pradesh. The viral video, allegedly depicting Chaudhary in an inappropriate act, prompted swift action from Congress high command. Rai emphasized the party’s zero-tolerance approach toward actions that tarnish its image.
A formal letter from the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee was issued, stating that the allegations had harmed the party's reputation. As a result, Chaudhary has been removed from his role as Baghpat District President with immediate effect.
