An Air India Boeing 787-800 passenger flight traveling from New Delhi to Birmingham made a precautionary landing in Moscow on September 4 due to "technical problems," according to Sheremetyevo Airport. The aircraft landed safely, and all 258 passengers and 17 crew members were unharmed. The flight was initially scheduled to depart at 21:35 Moscow time (18:35 GMT).

This incident follows a similar occurrence in July 2024, when an Air India flight from Delhi to San Francisco made an emergency landing in Siberia after the cockpit crew detected a potential issue in the cargo hold. Earlier, in June 2023, another Air India flight on the Delhi to San Francisco route experienced a technical problem and was stranded for a day before being replaced by another aircraft to rescue the passengers.
