This morning, a trial run was conducted for the Vande Bharat Express, which is parked ready at Durg station in Chhattisgarh. The train, set to operate between Durg and Visakhapatnam, will officially begin service on September 15, with Prime Minister Modi inaugurating it. Following the inauguration, the train will start regular operations on the Durg-Visakhapatnam route.

The Vande Bharat Express will depart from Durg station at 5:45 AM and reach Visakhapatnam at 1:45 PM, completing the journey in approximately eight hours. The train will have stops at Raipur, Mahasamund, Khariar Road, Kantabaji, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Raigarh, and Vijayanagaram, before reaching Visakhapatnam directly.

Running six days a week, the train features 16 coaches designed for passenger comfort. Each coach is equipped with laptop and mobile charging points and a combined table for convenience. This Vande Bharat Express is the second one in the South East Central Railway zone, complementing the existing service between Bilaspur and Nagpur. While the new train is adorned in saffron color, the Bilaspur-Nagpur service operates in white, though both trains share the same design and amenities.
