Train accident in Bijnor, Kisan Express splits into two, candidates traveling for exams stranded
In Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district, a train accident occurred around 4 AM today. The Kisan Express train split into two parts. The train was carrying a large number of candidates who were traveling to take the UP Police Constable recruitment exam. The cause of the accident is being attributed to a technical fault. Currently, railway officials have arrived at the site and are engaged in relief operations.
According to reports, the Kisan Express was on its way at 4 AM. As the train reached the Syohara railway station in Bijnor, the AC coach compartments broke apart, causing the train to split into two sections. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported. As soon as the incident was reported, police and railway officials reached the site. Witnesses indicated that the train was carrying candidates for the UP Police recruitment exam, who were on their way to the exam. Railway officials have managed to resume the train service. The accident is being investigated for technical faults. The Kisan Express runs from Old Delhi Junction to Bhatinda Junction.
It is noteworthy that there was a recent train accident in Kanpur as well, where the Sabarmati Express derailed, and 22 coaches went off the track. The accident occurred due to the train engine colliding with a boulder.
