On the last day of campaign for Mizoram election, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju expressed confidence that this election is going to be the most defining state Assembly election ever because for the first time BJP is playing a major role in the election.
“Earlier, the BJP was fighting to win one or two seats but in this election, we are a major force because we are going to win many seats in different pockets of the states. People have started having faith in BJP”, he said.
“The leadership of PM Modi has inspired the people of Mizoram…From this election onwards, the BJP will remain a major block here in Mizoram. If we manage to win many seats, we will play an important role in the formation of the govt. Otherwise, we will be a key player in the political scenario of Mizoram…”, he added.
Meanwhile, in view of the election, all borders along the Indo Myanmar frontier will be sealed 72 hours prior to the poll to ensure peaceful proceedings and prevent any untoward incidents. The state would vote on Nov 7 along with first phase voting in Chhattsgarh.
