”…those who have had severe COVID…should avoid….”, Health Minister cites ICMR study on sudden deaths

In a significant revelation from Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, he advised that those who have had severe COVID and enough time has not passed, should avoid overexertion or excessive workout.

Speaking to the media in Bhavnagar of Gujarat, he was responding to the media queries on heart attack cases during the recently concluded Garba festival, the Union Health Minister said, “ICMR has done a detailed study recently. The study says that those who have had severe covid and enough amount of time has not passed, should avoid overexertion, and overwork out, running or over-exercising for at least a year or two, to avoid heart attacks”.

It need be mentioned that at least ten of the heart attack cases were reported in Gujarat in the recently concluded Garba events itself.

The situation was so serious that the government had advised the Garba organizers to make provisions for ambulances should someone feel uneasy or congestion after participating in the religious cultural festivities.

Garba is played during Navratri when people worship Goddess Durga and dance with two sticks and in group to celebrate the nine days of being with motherly deity.
