A group of students staged a protest against the MCD outside the place where the basement of a coaching class was filled with water claiming the lives of three students.

Three students were found dead after the basement of a coaching institute in New Delhi flooded due to heavy rain, the fire department reported. The Delhi fire department received a call about waterlogging from the Rao IAS Study Centre in Old Rajendra Nagar at around 7 PM. The body of a female student was recovered during the rescue operation conducted by the NDRF, local police, and fire department officials. Two students remain missing.

Delhi minister Atishi stated that the fire department and a National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team are on-site. She is receiving minute-by-minute updates and has ordered a magistrate investigation into the incident, assuring that those responsible will be held accountable.

Old Rajendra Nagar, a hub for coaching centers for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil services examinations, witnessed this tragic event. Central Delhi DCP M Harshavardhan, speaking to ANI, confirmed that three bodies had been recovered and sent for further legal action. He mentioned that water is being continuously pumped out, with one final round of search operations pending. The operation is nearing its conclusion, and apart from the three deceased, 13 to 14 other students were rescued and are in good condition.

On Rajender Nagar Incident, BJP leader Shehzad Poonwalla says, "It is not just an accident, it is a murder committed by the Aam Aadmi Party. It is criminal negligence... The question is who will take the responsibility... There have been several deaths. Do the lives of the people of Delhi hold no value? Arvind Kejriwal and his government's priority is press conferences, advertisements and blame games... AAP is responsible for this. AAP's priority is to save Kejriwal from the liquor scam but they don't care about the lives of the residents of Delhi..."

On the Old Rajender Nagar incident, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj says, "These children came here to create their future. But the government of CM Arvind Kejriwal and MLA Durgesh Pathak did not listen to any requests of the local people. People had been asking Durgesh Pathak for last one week to get the drainage systems cleaned. There are still 2.5 feet of waterlogged on the street... Arvind Kejriwal and Durgesh Pathak are responsible for the deaths...".
