Statewide Boycott by Patwaris Halts Revenue Work

Raipur, December 26, 2024 – The ongoing boycott of online tasks by Patwaris across the state has brought revenue-related work to a complete standstill.
Citizens in need of land and revenue services are returning empty-handed from Patwari offices as the strike continues.
Since December 16, approximately 5,000 Patwaris have been boycotting all online revenue-related tasks.
This protest has paralyzed ground-level operations in the Revenue Department. Adding to the disruption, Patwaris have also exited official WhatsApp groups used for communication and coordination.
Reasons Behind the Boycott
The Patwaris have been protesting against the lack of essential resources needed to carry out their duties efficiently.
Earlier, similar grievances had led to strikes by the Patwaris, but the issues remain unresolved, prompting the current state-wide boycott.
The protest has caused significant delays and inconvenience to citizens relying on the Revenue Department’s services, highlighting the urgent need for dialogue between the government and the Patwari community to address their demands.
