SSB Director General given additional charge of BSF DG, know more

BSF

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed Daljit Singh Chaudhry, currently the Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), as the interim Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF). This temporary assignment will last until a permanent appointment is made or until further notice. This decision follows the immediate repatriation of former BSF DG Nitin Agarwal to his parent Kerala cadre.

Nitin Agarwal, an IPS officer from the 1989 batch, had assumed the role of BSF DG in June of the previous year, taking over from Pankaj Kumar Singh. Although the government has not officially stated the reasons for Agarwal's sudden repatriation, it is speculated that it may be linked to the rising infiltration incidents along the Jammu sector. The BSF is tasked with securing the international border and parts of the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
