bihar

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has shared that in today's all-party meeting of floor leaders chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the JD(U) leader demanded special category status of Bihar. The YSRCP leader demanded special category status for Andhra Pradesh. Strangely, the TDP leader kept quiet on the matter.

Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav brought attention to the Uttar Pradesh government's recent order requiring nameplates on food shops along the Kanwar route.

After the all-party meeting at the Parliament, NCP leader Praful Patel says, "These are formalities, such meetings are called before every session... All parties have given their suggestions on the budget session. Many parties have raised the issues of their respective states. What I have suggested is that the session should run smoothly without any interruptions, which has become a tradition now to interrupt and create chaos. All the matters should be discussed and debated, but peacefully... No discussion was held regarding the post of deputy speaker. I think the govt should call a different meeting for this issue in which the govt and opposition sit together and discuss..."

The Monsoon session of Parliament is scheduled to commence on Monday, July 22, and will span 19 sittings until August 12. During this session, the government plans to introduce six bills, including one aimed at replacing the decades-old Aircraft Act. Additionally, the Centre will seek Parliament's endorsement for the budget pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir, which is presently under direct Union administration.
