A Saudi Airlines plane with 297 aboard caught fire while landing at Peshawar airport in Pakistan. The incident occurred due to some issue in the landing gear, according to reports.

It is learnt that fire broke out in the landing gear of Saudi Airlines at Peshawar airport. As many as 10 passengers are said to have sustained injuries but 276 passengers and 21 crew safely evacuated using the inflatable slide.

Saudi Airlines issued a statement confirming that during landing at Peshawar International Airport in Pakistan, flight SV792 encountered smoke coming from one of the tires.


"Saudia clarifies that its aircraft, flying from Riyadh to Peshawar on flight SV792, experienced smoke emanating from one of the tires during landing at Peshawar International Airport in Pakistan," it said.
