Small gas cylinder on rail track, plot to derail revealed, investigation launched
In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, another plot to derail a train has come to light. A small gas cylinder was discovered on the railway track in Kanpur Dehat district, posing a potential danger of a major accident. Recently, there was an attempt to derail the Kalindi Express in Kanpur, which involved placing an LPG cylinder on the tracks. Additionally, petrol and explosives were found near the railway line.
According to reports, a small LPG cylinder was found on the railway track near the Perambur railway station in the Prayagraj division of Northern Central Railway. A freight train was about to pass when the loco pilot noticed the cylinder and managed to stop the train in time, preventing a serious incident. The railway safety force's SP confirmed that a five-kilogram empty LPG cylinder was found on the tracks, and thanks to the train's slow speed, the loco pilot was able to apply emergency brakes and alert the authorities.
On the night of September 8, a plot to bomb the Kalindi Express was uncovered in Kanpur. The train, which was en route from Prayagraj to Bhiwani, collided with an LPG-filled cylinder placed on the track, resulting in a loud explosion. Furthermore, petrol-filled bottles and explosives with matches were discovered at the scene. The investigation into this matter has been handed over to the NIA, with additional inquiries being conducted by the UP ATS, local police, and the GRP.
