Six Notorious Naxals, Including a Couple, Surrender with a Bounty of ₹24 Lakh on Their Heads

In Sukma, Chhattisgarh, six hardcore Naxals, including a Naxal couple, surrendered to authorities on Friday. These individuals, with a collective bounty of ₹24 lakh, took this step under the influence of the "Chhattisgarh Naxal Eradication and Rehabilitation Policy" and the "Niyad Nella Nar" program.

Among those surrendering, Kamla, the LOS commander of Silger, and Pawan, an area committee member, each carried a bounty of ₹5 lakh. Additionally, Naxals Bandu and Madvi also had ₹5 lakh bounties on their heads, while Kunjam and Dashru carried rewards of ₹2 lakh each.

Names of Surrendered Naxals

  • Kamla alias Bandi Doodhi – ₹5 lakh bounty
  • Pawan alias Kamlu Hemla – ₹5 lakh bounty
  • Bandu alias Bandi Sodi – ₹5 lakh bounty
  • Madvi Nagul Sushila – ₹5 lakh bounty
  • Kunjam Roshan alias Mahadev – ₹2 lakh bounty
  • Dashru alias Kotesh Sodi – ₹2 lakh bounty

Each surrendered Naxal has received an incentive of ₹25,000, along with further support under Chhattisgarh's rehabilitation policy.

Additional Developments in Sukma
In a separate encounter in the Burkalanka area of Sukma on Friday, DRG personnel engaged in a firefight with Naxals, resulting in one Naxal being killed. Weapons and the Naxal’s body were recovered from the scene. SP Kiran Chouhan reported that multiple Naxals were injured in the exchange.
