A life-size cut-out of PM Modi installed at Ghanta Ghar in Lal Chowk of Srinagar, becomes a popular attraction for people visiting the place.
Many people were seen posing by the side of this cut-out for their social media profile but is sure a sign of how times have indeed changed in the northern most state of India.
A tourist at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk says, “In the last 70 years, this is the first time when a photo of a prime minister has been installed here. It has not become a selfie point. We liked the place a lot.”
It was in 2019 that Indian government diluted the article 370 provisions to take back the autonomy of the Jammu and Kashmir. While at the time, there was vehement opposition to the move and there were concerns expressed from international quarters as well, the people slowly and steadily came to realize that now they are as mainstream as any other part of India.
With the development opportunities opening up, Kashmir is now more or less normalized.
