In a chilling incident from Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, the horrifying aftermath of a live-in relationship has come to light. A woman’s body, kept in a fridge for six months, was discovered recently.

The murder investigation has led to the arrest of her married partner, Sanjay Patidar, who has confessed to the crime. Shockingly, the body had been kept in a room adjacent to another tenant's family, but no one suspected anything until a foul smell started emanating from the fridge.

The victim has been identified as Pinky, also known as Pratibha Prajapati. Police arrested her lover, Sanjay Patidar, who confessed to the crime during interrogation. The gruesome discovery occurred in a two-story building owned by businessman Dheerendra Srivastava in Vrindavan Dham, Dewas.

Srivastava had been in Dubai for the last six months, leaving the ground floor rented out to different tenants. According to police officials, a man named Balveer Rajput had rented the ground floor in July of last year. However, he could not access two rooms that were locked by the previous tenants.

Patidar, who had vacated the flat in June, left behind his belongings, including a fridge, in one of the rooms. He had kept in touch with the landlord, assuring that he would return soon to collect his items.

The Discovery

As Balveer needed the rooms, he contacted the landlord to have the locks broken. When he opened the door on Thursday evening, he noticed that the fridge was still running.

Assuming the previous tenant had left it on by mistake, he turned it off and locked the room, planning to remove the items the next morning. However, on Friday morning, an unbearable stench began to spread from the room.

Neighbors alerted the police, who arrived at the scene and opened the fridge, only to find the decayed body wrapped in a sheet.

Murder Unveiled

Upon questioning the neighbors, police learned that Sanjay Patidar had not been seen since March 2024, raising suspicions. They soon located him and arrested him for the murder. During interrogation, Patidar revealed that he had been living with Pratibha in a live-in relationship for five years, including a three-year stint in Ujjain.

Patidar, who is married with two children, confessed that Pratibha had been pressuring him to marry her. On the day of the murder, Patidar claimed that he tried to reason with Pratibha, but she remained insistent on marriage. In a fit of rage, he strangled her to death.

He further admitted that he, along with his accomplice Vinod Dave, hid the body in the fridge to prevent the smell from spreading. Vinod Dave, who is currently incarcerated in a Rajasthan jail for another criminal case, is also under investigation in connection with this crime. The case has stunned the community and raised questions about the dangerous outcomes of unregulated live-in relationships.
