Amid the rising geopolitical tension in the world, Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikant Das spoke on crucial issues of financial stability and crude oil prices.
He said, “…There is a multiplicity of factors… The dollar index has become quite strong. The bond yields in the US have reached an all-time high, but, if you look at the volatility of the Indian rupee from January 1 this year till now, the rupee depreciation is 0.6 per cent… Whereas on the other hand, the appreciation of the US dollar for the same period has been in the order of about 3 per cent. So the rupee is stable.”
