Roadways bus rams against mini-truck, 15 die and several others injured

Fifteen people have died and several others are injured after a roadways bus collided with a mini-truck on National Highway 93 in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. The crash occurred on Friday as the bus was traveling from Hathras to Agra, and the mini-truck was heading back to Sewala village after lunch.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has acknowledged the tragedy, offering condolences and directing officials to speed up relief efforts. He has announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for those severely injured.

The District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police have visited the district hospital in response to the incident. Superintendent of Police (SP) Nipun Agarwal reported that the accident happened when the bus attempted to overtake the mini-truck on the Agra-Aligarh National Highway.

Four of the injured are in critical condition, according to news agency PTI.

“Around 6.15 pm, an accident took place involving a UP Roadways bus and a ‘chota haathi’ or TATA Magic vehicle. 15 people died, while some of the injured are undergoing treatment at Hathras Bagla District Hospital and others at Aligarh,” says UP’s Hathras SP Nipun Agarwal.
