French President Emmanuel Macron reiterated when meeting Israeli counterpart Isaac Herzog, “…the first objective should be the release of all hostages without any distinction…You are not alone in this war against terrorism…”.
The French President is the third major Western leader after American President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to have visited the Jewish state as it prepares for ground invasion.
The visiting French leader also met with the families of kidnapped Israelis who also have French citizenship. There are sources suggesting that Macron could insist on resumption of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
