Raipur: Political Tensions Rise Over Mukesh Chandrakar Murder Case, TS Singhdeo reacts

Raipur: The murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar in Bijapur has sparked intense political confrontation between the BJP and Congress in Chhattisgarh.
Both parties have exchanged sharp allegations, further escalating tensions around the case.
Congress Leader TS Singh Deo's Statement
Congress leader TS Singh Deo addressed the issue, advising political parties to refrain from giving space to individuals with criminal backgrounds.
"Political parties should ensure that tainted individuals are not given a platform," Singh Deo remarked, in an apparent appeal for maintaining ethical standards in politics.
Chief Minister’s Action Plan
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai condemned the brutal murder in the strongest terms, promising strict action against those involved. Acknowledging the gravity of the incident, CM Sai announced the formation of an 11-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Additional Superintendent of Police (IPS) Mayank Gurjar to expedite the investigation.
The SIT, supported by forensic experts, is utilizing scientific and technical evidence to uncover the details of the case. So far, three suspects have been arrested, and illegal constructions linked to them have been demolished.
A Call for Justice
The journalist’s murder has drawn widespread condemnation from political leaders, civil society, and the media. While the BJP and Congress engage in political discourse, the focus remains on delivering justice and ensuring the safety of journalists in the state.
As investigations proceed, the state government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that no perpetrator escapes accountability. The case has become a focal point for discussions on press freedom, law enforcement, and political accountability in Chhattisgarh.
