Raipur IGKV to host 'Karma Tihar', CM Vishnu Deo Sai to grace the occasion
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will participate in the "Prakriti Parv Bhado Ekadashi Vrat Karma Tihar" being held today at the Agriculture Mandapam, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur. During the event, Chief Minister Sai will offer prayers to the revered Mata Karma Devi and seek blessings for the prosperity and advancement of the state's residents.
The program will be chaired by Hari Harvansh Singh Miri, President of the State Kavar Society. Notable guests include Nandkumar Sai, former National President of the Scheduled Tribes Commission; Kaushalya Sai, President of the Women's Division, All India Kavar Society Pamsala, Jashpur; Urmila J.L. Pakhira, Patron of the Chhattisgarh Kavar Society Development Committee, Tatibandh, Raipur; and senior social representatives such as D.D. Singh, Nakul Chandravanshi, Tikaram Kavar, Bhim Singh Kavar, Vinod Sai, Jai Prakash Sai, R.N. Sai, Manohar Singh Pakhira, Kavar Timirendu Shekhar Singh Kavar, Mahipal Singh Kavar, and Sanket Sai Pakhira.
It is noteworthy that the Karma Tihar, celebrated annually on Bhado Ekadashi, is a traditional festival dedicated to nature. During this festival, the Karma tree is ceremoniously welcomed and worshipped, and the Karma story is recounted. The celebration includes traditional Karma dance and Karma songs performed collectively throughout the night, culminating in the immersion of the Karma tree in the morning.
