In Puri, Odisha, arrangements are being made for Bahuda Yatra which is to be held later in the day, today. Bahuda Yatra marks the end of the nine-day sojourn of Lord Jagannath and his siblings - Goddess Subhadra & Lord Balabhadra. The deities will return to Sri Mandir from Sri Gundicha temple in three different chariots pulled by devotees.
Speaking on the security preparations, Odisha ADG (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar says, "...As per the rituals, things will start at 8 in the morning. Force deployment will be there from 6 AM. Our main concern is traffic. One of the finest traffic arrangements that we have, it was this year, everybody is appreciating it. The security arrangements have also been upgraded and that's our endeavour that no problem took place when devotees will be pulling the deities...There is no single untoward incident has happened, everything is well placed. The entire city is covered by the CCTV. AI is also working well...".
After a nine-day sojourn to the Gundicha temple, Lord Jagannath, along with his siblings Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra, will return to Srimandir as part of the popular Bahuda Yatra (return journey) in Puri on Monday.
The deities will travel back in their respective grand chariots, pulled by devotees from Gundicha temple to Srimandir. Elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the Bahuda Yatra, which marks the end of the deities' nine-day journey.
According to sources, the schedule for all the rituals of Bahuda Yatra has been fixed. Following tradition, the ‘Pahandi’ of the deities will take place at 12 PM after completing all the rituals at Gundicha temple. The chariots will begin their journey at 4 PM, and additional rituals will be performed atop the chariots once they reach their destination.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has made extensive preparations to ensure that all rituals are conducted smoothly and in a disciplined manner, with an emphasis on adhering to the schedule.
