Punjab Police Disrupts ISI-Backed Terror Module Operated by Babbar Khalsa International

In a significant achievement, the Punjab Police have dismantled a Pakistan-ISI-backed terror module linked to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). The operation was orchestrated by operatives Harvinder Rinda and Harpreet Singh (alias Happy Passia) and executed by foreign-based gangster Gurdev Singh (alias Jaisel, alias Pehalwan), hailing from Chambal village in Tarn Taran.

Key Arrests and Discoveries

Acting on intelligence inputs, the police arrested Jashandeep Singh from Amritsar and a juvenile accomplice. During interrogation, the duo admitted to planting an IED at the Ajnala Police Station on November 23, 2024, and their involvement in other attacks.

Recoveries

The police seized: Two hand grenades One pistol with ammunition One motorcycle Case Registration and Investigation An FIR has been registered at SSOC Amritsar, and investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the networks led by Rinda, Happy Passia, and Gurdev Jaisal.

Official Statement

Director General of Police, Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, emphasized the breakthrough as a major step in countering terrorism and safeguarding the region. "We remain committed to dismantling terror modules and protecting Punjab's security," he added.
