Pandit Pradeep Mishra addressing devotees during his Shiv Mahapuran Katha in Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh, countering claims of superstition related to offering a tumbler of water to Shivling, while a large audience listens attentively.

Chief Minister

Pandit Pradeep Mishra, who is Shiv Mahapuran Katha exponent of international fame, has been addressing devotees  in Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh, at Katakurridih Kukrel. A large crowd, as usual, gathered to listen to him. Amidst this, Pandit Pradeep Mishra responded to recent comments regarding the practice of offering 'one tumbler of water' to Shivling being labeled as superstition. He retorted by saying, "First, offer a tumbler of water and then see for yourself whether it's faith or superstition. Those who have issues with Sanatan Dharma are a different matter. Within Sanatan Dharma, there is Shiva worship and devotion. I do not oppose any political party; this is about raising awareness of Sanatan Dharma."

It's important to note that former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel recently made a statement about 'one tumbler of water' offering, which sparked criticism from the BJP. Baghel commented on the belief that simply offering one lota of water can solve all problems, without working, educating children, or tending to fields. He stated, "This is not faith; it is superstition spread by the BJP." Baghel made these remarks during an event in Jevartala village, Gurur Block, Balod district, where he also emphasized the importance of education and effort, citing that even Lord Krishna herded cows and Lord Ram wandered the forests.
