**Promotion Ban for Government Employees with More Than Two Children: Rajasthan High Court's Major Ruling**

The Rajasthan government had decided to lift the ban on promotions for government employees with more than two children, allowing them to be promoted. However, the Rajasthan High Court has imposed an interim stay on this decision.

The High Court, led by Justices Pankaj Bhandari and Vinod Kumar Bharwani, has ordered a halt on promotions for government employees with more than two children.

Previously, in 2023, the government had lifted the restriction, which was originally imposed to prevent promotions for employees with more than two children. However, the High Court has now temporarily blocked this decision.

Earlier, in February 2024, the Supreme Court made a significant ruling regarding the two-child policy. The rule that barred individuals with more than two children from obtaining government jobs in Rajasthan was challenged in the Supreme Court. The court ruled that denying government jobs to those with more than two children is not discriminatory. The Supreme Court clarified that the rule, which disqualifies candidates with more than two living children from government employment, is aimed at promoting family planning.
