President of Trinidad and Tobago to be Chief Guest at 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Odisha

The President of Trinidad and Tobago, Christine Carla Kangaloo, will be the chief guest at the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD), scheduled to take place in Bhubaneswar from January 8 to 10.
This was confirmed in an official statement.
Event Highlights
President Kangaloo will participate in several activities during her visit, including an interaction with students at the Godibari Government School in Chandaka.
The event, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is expected to host approximately 7,000 guests, including over 200 foreign journalists and vloggers from seven countries.

Preparations in Full Swing
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi chaired a review meeting on Tuesday to oversee the preparations. Highlighting the significance of the event, Majhi stated, "This is an opportunity to showcase Odisha's art and culture on an international platform.
All efforts will be made to provide the best services to the guests."
Cultural and Tourism Opportunities
As part of the event, guests will be taken on guided tours to 31 iconic sites, including Bhubaneswar, Konark, Puri, and Cuttack.
Additionally, several cultural programs will be organized at various locations to highlight Odisha’s rich heritage. The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas serves as a platform to celebrate the contributions of overseas Indians and strengthen ties between India and the global diaspora.
This year’s event promises to be a grand celebration of Indian culture and international camaraderie.
